captain rhett

Rhett Smith is a lifelong outdoorsman and fisherman born and raised on his family farm in South Georgia. After retiring his Motocross jersey he moved into the field of wood-working which led him to the mountains of North Carolina. That was when he decided to turn his love of fishing into his calling. After six years guiding fly anglers in Cashiers/Highlands, a trip to the Lowcountry made the decision easy; it was time to trade the drift boat for a skiff.

Anglers of all skill levels and ages are welcome — from total beginners to seasoned fly casters. Rhett is patient, calm, and focused on helping you succeed.

You’ll fish from his Maverick skiff, built for skinny water and silent approaches. Both fly fishing and light tackle are available. The intention is to put you on fish, teach you the unique waters and give you an unforgettable Lowcountry experience.
