FAQs

What kind of fishing do you offer?

We specialize in fly fishing and light-tackle sight fishing for redfish in the shallow marshes, creeks, and flood-tide grass of the South Carolina Lowcountry. During the right seasons, we may also target cobia or tarpon when they’re in the area.

Do I need any fly-fishing experience?

No experience required. Whether you’re brand new or highly experienced, we tailor the trip to your skill level. Beginners are coached step-by-step, and seasoned anglers will enjoy technical sight-fishing opportunities

What’s included on each trip?

    •    Fly rods & reels

    •    Light-tackle spinning gear

    •    Flies, lures, leaders, and other tackle

    •    Cooler with ice and bottled water

    •    Safety gear

    •    Fishing licenses

What should I bring?

We recommend:

    •    Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, SPF clothing)

    •    Sunscreen (no spray please)

    •    Comfortable shoes

    •    Weather-appropriate clothing

Optional: your own rod/reel if you prefer

How many anglers can you take?

Our Maverick skiff is ideal for 1–2 anglers for best balance and sight-fishing capability.

Where do we leave from?

We launch from various locations around Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head, St. Helena, and the Port Royal Sound. Your exact launch location will be confirmed the day before based on tides and conditions

Do we still go if the weather looks bad?

Trips go out in most conditions, but safety always comes first. If conditions are unsafe (lightning, extreme wind, storms), we will reschedule or refund your trip.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel or reschedule up to 7 days in advance for a full refund of your deposit. 50% required at booking.

Weather-related cancellations are fully refunded or rescheduled.

Do I need a fishing license?

No — the captain’s charter license covers you. You don’t need to purchase anything separately.

Can we target cobia or tarpon?

Yes—when they’re in season and conditions allow. Cobia migrate through the Broad River in late spring, and tarpon show up in the Port Royal Sound during the summer.

Can kids or beginners come?

Absolutely. We welcome new anglers and younger anglers who can safely follow instructions on the skiff. Just let us know beforehand and we’ll tailor the experience

What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit cards, cash, and digital payments (Venmo, Zelle). A 50% deposit is required at booking.

Can I bring my own gear?

Yes! If you have a favorite rod, reel, or fly setup, bring it. We’re happy to rig it for the conditions.

Do you clean or keep fish?

We practice catch and release to protect the fishery
